Mark Wang, President and CEO

Mark Wang is President and Chief Executive Officer and a Director of Hilton Grand Vacations (HGV). Mr. Wang has served as Executive Vice President and President, Hilton Grand Vacations for Hilton Worldwide since March 2008 and oversees all of Hilton Worldwide’s global timeshare operations. Mr. Wang was appointed to this role after serving as Head of HGV Asia. He first joined the company in 1999 as Managing Director of Hawaii and Asia Pacific and has held a series of senior management positions within HGV.

During Mr. Wang’s time as President of HGV, he also served on Hilton Worldwide’s executive committee as Executive Vice President and held a dual role as President of Global Sales for the hotel division from 2013 to 2014. He also led Hilton Worldwide’s Asia-Pacific Islander Team Member Resource Group.

While leading HGV, the division has experienced eight years of consecutive growth while transforming the business to a capital efficient model. With 35 years of industry experience, Mr. Wang has earned a reputation as an innovator who brought new, highly effective sales and marketing techniques to the industry. In 1987 he introduced the U.S. vacation ownership product to the Japanese market.

Prior to joining HGV, Mr. Wang co-founded three independent timeshare companies, where he served as President and COO of each.

Mr. Wang serves on the American Resort Development Association’s (ARDA) Board of Directors and Executive Committee, previously served as Vice Chairperson for ARDA Hawaii, and is ARDA’s Chair-Elect for 2017.

Pablo Brizi, Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer

Pablo Brizi is Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer for Hilton Grand Vacations (HGV). In this role, Mr. Brizi is responsible for leading teams of highly experienced human resources professionals who provide strategic business partnerships and consultative talent services across the global business. His oversight as CHRO also includes talent management, compensation, benefits, recruitment, succession planning, learning and development, and general HR shared services.

Mr. Brizi brings more than 25 years of human resources experience working with multinational organizations in the hospitality, technology, oil, manufacturing and private equity industries. Most recently, he served as Chief Human Resources Officer for Bloomin’ Brands where he oversaw global compensation, benefits, talent management, leadership development, corporate affairs and HR operations for approximately 100,000 corporate and restaurant Team Members.

In addition, Mr. Brizi held a number of leadership positions with Avaya, including Vice President, Global Compensation and Benefits, and Senior Director of HR for the Americas. He also worked for NCR Corporation, Ford Motors Company, and Exxon Corporation in a variety of HR and compensation and benefits leadership roles.

Mr. Brizi holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Universidad Argentina de la Empresa. In addition, he completed Cornell University’s Modern CHRO Role executive education program and holds a designation in Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) through World-at-Work.

Dan Mathewes, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

Daniel J. “Dan” Mathewes serves as Hilton Grand Vacations’ (HGV) Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Mathewes is responsible for leading teams of highly skilled finance professionals who develop and implement corporate and financial strategies across our global business. He leads the finance, accounting, portfolio, treasury, tax, and investor relations departments.

Mr. Mathewes has more than 20 years of diverse, global finance experience with both public and private multi-national companies. He is known for working with operational management to successfully execute strategic goals while driving strong financial outcomes.

Prior to HGV, Mr. Mathewes served as CFO of Virgin Hotels North America, the lifestyle hotel brand by Sir Richard Branson. Previously, he was CFO of The World, the largest privately owned yacht with 165 residences, and previously served as Senior Vice President of finance and treasury for Kerzner International, which operated The Atlantis resorts in Nassau and Dubai, the One&Only luxury hotels, and Mazagan Beach Resort in Morocco. During Mathewes’ career, he also worked in multiple financial leadership capacities with NCL Corporation (Norwegian Cruise Lines) and Royal Caribbean Cruises. Mathewes began his career with PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Mr. Mathewes graduated Summa Cum Laude from Florida State University with a degree in accounting and economics and is a certified public accountant.

Gordon Gurnik, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer

Gordon Gurnik serves as Hilton Grand Vacations’ (HGV) Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Gurnik joined HGV in 2018, where he leads Business Operations, Shared Services, New Product Development, Information Technology Services, and Sales and Marketing – Asia.

Mr. Gurnik’s responsibilities at HGV include working in partnership with the executive team to coordinate business development, process implementation, and information technology deployment while ensuring alignment with HGV’s strategic priorities for all new initiatives.

Prior to joining HGV, Mr. Gurnik served as President of RCI, a worldwide leader in vacation exchange and travel services and the largest exchange network in the world. While at RCI, he was instrumental in advancing the company’s signature products while also leading RCI’s strategic direction, operations and growth with over 3.8 million member families and 4,300 vacation ownership resorts.

Mr. Gurnik holds a bachelor’s degree in management from Purdue University. He serves on the board of directors for Christel House International, a non-profit organization that supports impoverished children throughout the world, and is a member of the American Resort Development Association’s (ARDA) board of directors.

Charles Corbin, Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer

Charles R. Corbin serves as Executive Vice President, Chief Legal Officer and General Counsel of HGV. Mr. Corbin has served as Senior Vice President for Dispute Resolution and Employment & Benefits at Hilton since 2013. He was appointed to this role after serving as Vice President and Global Head of Dispute Resolution, a role he held since he joined Hilton in March 2010.

Following a successful career as a trial lawyer and partner in a boutique commodities and securities litigation law firm based in Washington, D.C., Mr. Corbin has been an in-house lawyer for the past 17 years. With nearly 35 years of legal experience, Mr. Corbin has earned a reputation as an innovative legal thinker and dynamic leader who brings a commercial perspective and risk-adjusted approach to providing practical advice and counsel to business partners and enterprises in a variety of industries.

Prior to joining HWI, Mr. Corbin served as in-house counsel to Sunrise Senior Living, Inc. and The Mills Corporation. Mr. Corbin earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in English from The Citadel and his juris doctorate from the University of Dayton School of Law.

Dennis DeLorenzo, Executive Vice President, Chief Sales Officer

Dennis DeLorenzo serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Sales Officer for Hilton Grand Vacations. In this role, Mr. DeLorenzo oversees HGV and Hilton Club sales operations. He was appointed to Executive Vice President in 2017 and to Chief Sales Officer in 2016, having previously served as Senior Vice President Sales since 2015 and Vice President Marketing Development since 2012.

An industry veteran with more than 20 years of experience in timeshare sales and marketing leadership roles, Mr. DeLorenzo has a dynamic background that includes prior leadership roles within HGV, as well as having served as Senior Vice President of Marketing with Holiday Inn Club Vacations; Regional Vice President, Sales and Marketing for Sunterra Corporation; and Director of Marketing, Mid-Atlantic Region for Marriott Ownership Resorts, Inc.

Matthew Sparks, Executive Vice President and Chief Development Officer

Matthew Sparks is Executive Vice President and Chief Development Officer for Hilton Grand Vacations (HGV). In this role, Mr. Sparks is responsible for leading all aspects of the company’s development and acquisitions pipeline. He also manages and optimizes the HGV portfolio of assets as well as the company’s fee-for-service and joint venture relationships. Additionally, he oversees the design and construction group.

Mr. Sparks has nearly 30 years of global development and acquisition experience in the hospitality industry. He has been active in all aspects of hospitality real estate and brand development including acquisitions, joint venture structuring, repositioning and new construction.

Prior to HGV, Mr. Sparks served as Executive Vice President and Chief Investment Officer of Park Hotels & Resorts where he established and oversaw the company’s investment and acquisition strategy. Prior to his role at Park Hotels & Resorts, Mr. Sparks served as Hilton’s Senior Vice President, Luxury & Corporate Development, where he managed the company’s full service, corporate and luxury/lifestyle brand growth and development in North America. Previous roles include Senior Vice President of Acquisitions at Sage Hospitality Resources and senior development positions at Fairmont Raffles Hotels International.

Mr. Sparks holds a bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University’s School of Hospitality Business and currently serves on the Alumni Board of Directors and The Real Estate Counsel for the program.

Sherri Silver, Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer

Sherri Silver serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for Hilton Grand Vacations (HGV). In this capacity, Ms. Silver oversees global marketing operations.

Ms. Silver brings more than 20 years' progressive, strategic marketing and business leadership experience in a variety of consumer segments and industries. Prior to joining HGV in 2017, she served as Chief Marketing Officer with Erie Insurance, a growing Fortune 500 insurer, where she led marketing, strategy, innovation, and customer experience. Earlier in her career, Sherri was a Senior Vice President with JPMorgan Chase, where she grew businesses by serving in multiple capacities, including Chief Marketing Officer and General Manager for partnership-oriented business units in the U.S. and Canada. Sherri has a wide breadth of expertise and leadership experience focused on developing and executing integrated, consumer-focused growth strategies using data and technology to drive better outcomes.

Ms. Silver holds an MBA in Finance from Fordham University and a bachelor’s degree in Marketing from the University of Massachusetts.

Stan Soroka, Executive Vice President and Chief Customer Officer

Stan Soroka serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Customer Officer for Hilton Grand Vacations. In this capacity, Mr. Soroka is responsible for continuous development of innovative enhancements to the Club Member experience. He also provides corporate and customer strategies to drive profitable customer behavior and create a customer-centric culture focused on service, retention, and loyalty while driving value for the company.

Prior to his current role, Mr. Soroka served as Senior Vice President of Club, Resort, and Brand Services. He and his team made impactful changes to the way the company serves Club Members and guests – from re-investments in additional Club counselors to launching the new Club website and mobile application to improved customer service scores at HGV resorts.

Previously, he served as Area Vice President – Florida & Hilton Grand Vacations Resort Operations for Hilton Worldwide. In this dual capacity, he oversaw hotel operations for Hilton, Doubletree, Embassy Suites, and Waldorf Astoria properties throughout the State of Florida, as well as the Conrad Miami. His responsibilities also included oversight of timeshare resort operation functions for Hilton Grand Vacations’ developed properties in Las Vegas, New York, Orlando, and South Beach, Miami.

A second generation hotelier, Mr. Soroka has more than 34 years of experience successfully operating renowned hotels and resorts. Prior to joining Hilton in 2005, he served as Managing Director of El Conquistador Resort and Las Casitas Village in Puerto Rico and previously held leadership roles at Oakbrook Hotels and Vail Resorts Management. Mr. Soroka began his hospitality career with Hyatt in the stewarding department, quickly moving up the food and beverage ranks before transitioning to front office operations and management.

Mr. Soroka earned a bachelor of science degree in Hospitality Management from the Conrad N. Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management at the University of Houston.

Carlos Hernandez, Senior Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer

Carlos Hernandez is Senior Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer for Hilton Grand Vacations (HGV). In this role, Mr. Hernandez oversees SEC Reporting, global accounting operations and related internal controls and technical accounting matters.

Mr. Hernandez has over 25 years of global finance and accounting experience working with both public and private multinational organizations operating across various industries.

Prior to HGV, Mr. Hernandez served as Chief Financial Officer of Holistica Destinations Ltd. a joint venture between Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. and ITM Group. Previously, he was Executive Vice President Finance of The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, a luxury cruise line affiliated with Marriott International. Mr. Hernandez also previously served as Senior Vice President Finance of Atlantis Paradise Island, a destination resort located in the Bahamas and Senior Vice President and Controller of Kerzner International, which operated the Atlantis branded destination resorts in the Bahamas and Dubai, the One&Only luxury hotels and Mazagan Beach Resort in Morocco. During his career, Mr. Hernandez also worked for Norwegian Cruise Line as Vice President and Controller and was a Senior Manager with PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Mr. Hernandez holds a master’s and bachelor’s degree in accounting both from Florida International University and is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Florida.

Jeff Bernier, Regional Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing – APAC

Jeff Bernier is Regional Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing – APAC for Hilton Grand Vacations (HGV). In this role, Mr. Bernier is responsible for leading sales and marketing strategies and initiatives to drive revenue growth in the Asia-Pacific Region.

Prior to joining HGV in 2015, Mr. Bernier served as Managing Director of Asia-Pacific Region at Delta Air Lines, where he was responsible for increasing sales revenue and growing the company’s visibility. For more than two decades, Mr. Bernier has lived in Japan and held progressive roles at Northwest Airlines in IT, Revenue Management, Sales, Trade Relations and Industry Affairs. Prior to Delta’s merger of Northwest Airlines, his role was President, Japan.

Mr. Bernier’s more than 20 years of experience in the Asia-Pacific Region’s travel industry is an asset as HGV continues to strategically develop new markets in the region. Under his leadership, HGV has been recognized with two prestigious awards from the American Resort Development Association, including sales team of the year and marketing team of the year.

Mr. Bernier speaks Japanese and holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Saint Olaf College where he graduated cum laude. He also serves on the Executive Committee as Secretary of Asia Pacific Resort Development Organization.

Rich Jackson, Senior Vice President, Chief Information Officer

Rich Jackson serves as Senior Vice President, Chief Information Officer for Hilton Grand Vacations. He is responsible for the leadership of HGV’s global Information Technology team, covering technology vision, strategy, development, and operations.

Mr. Jackson has led strategic efforts in applying technology toward the reinvention of key operational units within HGV and directed many of the company’s enablement initiatives, including sales technology, contracts automation, mobile, and virtualization. Prior to joining HGV in 2005, he served as CIO of the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA), the largest trade association representing every sector of the U.S. Lodging industry, where he was responsible for the technology strategy and operations for AH&LA as well as its subsidiaries. Prior to his time at AH&LA, Mr. Jackson worked in a variety of progressive technology roles in the municipal government, defense industry, and private sector. A 25-year veteran in the Information Technology field, he has been the recipient of several industry awards, including Computer World’s “ROI and Best Practices in Green Computing and the Data Center” award in 2008.

Mr. Jackson is a frequent contributor to industry events as a speaker, panelist, and author on industry technology topics. He is a past member of the HITEC advisory council, a current member of the ARDA technology council, and founding member of the AH&LA Technology committee. Mr. Jackson is also an active member of many computing professional organizations, including Hospitality Financial and Technical Professionals and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc. (IEEE).

Mr. Jackson earned a bachelor’s degree in computer information systems from Strayer University and a master’s degree in information systems technology from George Washington University.

Valerie Spangler, Senior Vice President, Chief Commercial Officer

Valerie Spangler serves as Hilton Grand Vacations’ (HGV) Senior Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer. In her role, Ms. Spangler acts as the single point of leadership for the real estate, resort operations and club management business operations teams. In addition, Valerie leads the financial planning and analysis, information management and analytics, and sales services teams at HGV.

Ms. Spangler began her career in the timeshare industry with HGV in 2003 and has held progressive leadership roles in the company’s business operations and finance groups. Most recently, Ms. Spangler served as Senior Vice President of Finance with the company, where she was responsible for forecasting, financial and operational reporting, as well as partnering on program implementation with a focus on driving results and increasing profitability. Previously, she was Vice President of Business Operations and Sales Services at HGV.

Ms. Spangler is an active member of the American Resort Development Association (ARDA) and represents the company on the ARDA International Foundation (AIF) Board of Trustees.

Ms. Spangler holds a bachelor’s degree in finance and international business from the Pennsylvania State University.

Hannah Vazzana, Senior Vice President, Corporate Strategy & Shared Services

Hannah Vazzana is Senior Vice President, Corporate Strategy & Shared Services for Hilton Grand Vacations. In this capacity, Ms. Vazzana is responsible for leading the company’s corporate strategy, corporate communications and brand & creative departments.

Ms. Vazzana joined HGV in 2008 and has held several leadership positions with increasing responsibility within the Executive office, including Director of Program Management, Senior Director of Strategic Planning and Vice President Strategic Insights.

Prior to joining HGV, Ms. Vazzana spent six years with Starwood Vacation Ownership (now Vistana) as Six Sigma Black Belt, Director of Project Leadership and Director of Development.

Ms. Vazzana serves on the Reputation Management Council of the American Resort Development Association (ARDA). She received a bachelor of arts from Harvard University and a master of business administration from Harvard Business School.
